All About Energy Event - March 23

Join Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, Black Hawk College, and Western Illinois University as we present a day-long event that focuses on energy and sustainable practices. ALL ABOUT ENERGY is scheduled for Friday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Mississippi Plaza Building at 201 Harrison Street in downtown Davenport.

Featured speakers will offer first-hand knowledge in the areas of:

  • What’s next in energy technology,
  • Career opportunities in energy-related job fields,
  • How to save more on your energy bills,
  • New energy-related innovations in our communities, and
  • A case study of Sonderborg, Denmark—a city working its way toward “carbon zero” status.

Following the conclusion of the conference, attendees are welcome to tour the Advanced Technology Environmental and Energy Center’s (ATEEC) Interactive Learning Lab, which is also located in the Mississippi Plaza Building. The learning lab features a variety of different hands-on displays, a mini-theatre, and an array of working solar panels. We especially encourage student participation for this event.

Cost is $25 per person; discounted price of $10 per person for students of EICC, BHC, and WIU. Lunch and the tour of the ATEEC learning lab is included in the registration fee. Free parking will be available in the City of Davenport parking facility at Harrison and 2nd Street.

More detailed information will be distributed in the coming weeks about this event.  Formal registration opens January 12, 2012.  For more information, please call Karen Farley at EICC, 336-3323 or toll free at 1-888-336-3907.
