Stanley Consultants Teams with ATEEC to host Engineering Week!

Sixty-four Muscatine High School students visited the ATEEC Interactive Learning Lab recently!

Stanley Consultants in Muscatine hosts Engineering Week for area engineering students each year. This year they brought their students to the Quad Cities. ATEEC’s Interactive Learning Lab was selected to be part of the special day of activities.

The students participated in hands-on experiments working with KidWind® wind turbine models. They tested the models for power output based on changes in various blade shapes, materials, and pitch.

The students were divided in two groups. While one group tested wind turbines, another group toured the Kone Escalator plant in Coal Valley, IL.

Stanley Consultants has been sponsoring similar Engineering Week activities for the past six years. With a shortage of engineers in the country, the events are intended to illustrate how engineers impact the world and to draw more students into the profession.

ATEEC was very honored to host this creative group of young engineers. We look forward to hosting them again next year when they experiment with solar powered cars!
